Right to Repair update! Mass auto bill up for general vote this fall

This morning I saw a new Right to Repair advert on CBS it was only 30 sec’s and got me curious. It turns out The independent auto repair have hit a snag in the original bill that was approved back in 2013. The auto makers are looking at bypassing the law by leveraging tech! Most cars today have access to the cellular network so updates and notifications can be sent directly to your car from the manufactures! And the car it self can phone home telling the manufacture it is in need of service as well as offer diagnostic data!

Here’s the updated bill Updated Massachusetts Right to Repair Law Headed to Ballot

I’m not sure if our efforts are being sidelined here!

Yep, that's the ad I saw!

I pinged Nathan as well who told me he was aware of the issue. Just don't want our efforts to be sidelined. Hopefully both elements can be joined within the same bill!

@kyle - Good news! The question passed with a large margin!

There was a lot of money thrown at this as well as a lot of FUD. People were smarter! They didn't fall for it,

Diagnostics over the air needs to be accessible to the independents via a manufacture managed site that repair and owners can access. Only diagnostics data!
