Hi there Kenneth.

Thanks for posting on this forum. According to a few of our community members, it looks like a GPU replacement isn’t really possible without replacing the entire logic board. You can find more information on this topic under this thread. iFixit is a collaborative wiki free for anyone to use, so if you’re able to create a guide then please feel free to do so.

This is a unique device in the sense there are no good parts available that will last for years. Many of the GPUs sold for these have been removed from dead systems and reballed to put on a new board, but are not new. The issue with this is since the GPUs aren’t new, they will fail the same way. This is why nobody has done a guide on doing it for this machine yet.

It’s highly unlikely anyone will bother with a 2011 but there may be a chance if you see someone with a 2012 who can do it and has a genuinely new GPU, then we’ll see it but not until then.
