I’m on the same page with the article: “Here’s hoping that Ceramic Shield cover protecting the displays is tough enough to prevent repairs in the first place.”
I guess only time will tell!

I doubt it, personally. It might help a little for light drops but not most.
@nick That's pretty much what I suspect too.
@kristen Still better then breaking because you dropped it a few inches because the phone fell from your pocket, but we all need to be realistic about how much it will help.
Don't throw your phone across the room and expect it to hold up (or a drop from eye height), but it will probably survive from your pocket.
