What are we supposed to do about duplicate guides?

There’s 2 guides on how to replace the Hard Drive on the Dell Latitude E6530 page (one of them are missing a step). What are we supposed to do about the duplicate guide?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Hi there Jonathan,

Thanks for posting on this forum. We looked into the two guides in question, and it does seem that they are duplicate guides. After doing a little more digging, it looks like you were working on your guide at the same time as a team of students in our Technical Writing Program who were working on a set of guides for the E6530. You mentioned that their guide is missing a step. As a member of the iFixit community, feel free to edit their guide and improve it! In true wiki fashion, the guides on iFixit are a collaboration, so don't hesitate to help improve any content you see on the site.

Let us know if you have any questions or comments. Thanks so much Jonathan and happy fixing!

@jogihara I usually write my own in place, but let the original reside for method disagreements. My version (OG 360 HD teardown) vs the original.

For me, it's more about knowing if the author of the original pulls it off, then my changes stick. I made it primarily because I needed a hard drive for a 4GB 360 E. I wanted to be sure the guide wouldn't be in need of emergency repair because it was pulled.
