Upcoming Australian Repair Summit

As we all have found out about how interconnected we all are (no matter where in the World we are), I think this could offer us the opportunity to learn about what is going on somewhere else. Let’s find out what works and what does not work in other places. Maybe we can apply some of this to our own fight for the Right to Repair.

Thanks to iFixit for sponsoring the event!!!! If nothing else we can at least offer moral support to the Boss @kyle (like he needs it :-)

Hi @oldturkey03 ,

Seems like they fixed their typo if you copied and pasted the date and time from the link ;-)

It now shows:

9 July 2021

9:00 am-4:00 pm AEST

The agenda then shows:

3.30pm Close and thanks

4.00pm Drinks and Canapes in Foyer

Seems a long way to come for a beer and nibblies

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Canberra is in the AEST (Australian Eastern Standard Time) time zone.

The Australian Central Standard Time (ACST) time zone is further west covering South Australia and the Northern Territory and is 30 minutes behind AEST. e.g. 0900 - 1530 AEST = 0830 -1500 ACST

Cheers

Hi @danj,

Won't be going due to the restrictions in place in some places over east and also the WA border restrictions because of this

There aren't too many direct flights from here to the ACT so would have to go via other capital cities over east which means that I may not get back home again for a while if I did.

The WA state border is closed to people coming from NSW and restricted to some other places and is fluid at the moment as to where and why and for how long due to COVID 19 Delta variant outbreak over east.

If I did go this way then I may have to quarantine for 14 days upon my return.

Not appealing as I'm only 12 days away from my 2nd AZ vacc. shot which I don't want to miss

Cheers

@jayeff - Fully understand! They are starting to beat the drum of putting masks on again here! This thing is mutated and the current inoculations may not be effective enough to hold it at bay ;-{

If you have a friend who's going, see what they can offer us 'Others' a peak through the knot hole in the door.

Stay safe!

Hi @thesimpleguy, this doesn't need to be marked as a discussion. We don't expect everyone to acknowledge that they've seen everything posted.
