Need a categorization approved

https://www.ifixit.com/Device/Xbox_One_W...

I am working on the Wiki for the 1914 controller, so I need the page approved so it shows in the right place.

And yes, I did use my EliteBook 840 G5 for the background :P. I just covered the HP logo. for the most part it’s a modified copy of the 1708 Wiki as I modified that as a working base, but it’ll become unique with time. As per usual I’ll let the students handle guides on this. The only ask I have is to leave the PC section (and reputation threshold) be, as I have tested that information before making the changes I needed to.

Is it look like I can leave it where it is or could it probably stand to be differentiated more?

The recycled wikis are a patch for a replacement set, but the rest was modified as I needed to.

Question @krisrodriguez: Would it be better to rebrand the 1708 TSing to 1708/1914 or should we leave that up to the students who will get to it? It's literally the same but I will need to add a USB-C reference and may need to make some minor updates, but on the other hand there may be a thing that we don't know about that may justify a derived set of steps unique to 1914.

@nick I think we can go ahead and rebrand it to 1708/1914 since it is the same thing. And if by chance any 1914-specific steps arise, then we can decide how we want to present that (either in the summary or in the guide itself). What do you think?

@krisrodriguez Let's do a rebrand for now and when the students get to it and if they find any major gaps which justify a new Wiki for it take their word on it, even if they need to it for their overall grade because of the teacher and it's nearly 1:1.

Remember, a lot of the work here is essentially a patch unless it holds as a permanent solution because it's a foundation to build a unique Wiki.

@nick this sounds good to me :)

@krisrodriguez I'll make the modifications needed, but if something comes up we need to decide then and there - 1914 only note, or Wiki note? If the students decide to redo it as a more complete fix, I'm on their side anyway - this really, really needs a dedicated Wiki long term but as a short term fix, we can rebrand the 1708 and then rebrand back to 1708 if a new TSing Wiki is made. I think we're both on the same page this is a band-aid solution until we can figure out what really needs to be done. The reason I don't feel comfortable making an executive decision here is I graduated before EDU took off (I got my education in this from the SOHK) so I don't know how much of a percentage their grades are based on it or if it's per teacher.

I've added a 1708 only note for a few things, and made a few cleanup revisions as I seen a opportunity to do so.

The Xbox rechargeable battery works, but not the USB charge cable - can confirm as I own the old controllers and a 1914. I've noted the cable that came with those packs years ago will not work, but the batteries carry. See if the 1914-specific notes are the way to go or not for certain problems. Honestly, I don't care as those cables stink for durability and are weird with non-Xbox controllers and always used good 3rd party ones but someone who has the cable and battery deserves to know it's a 50/50 situation - ditch the cable, but carry the battery.

I think if we do keep the old wiki, it'll be a split matter - for issues like the Xbox battery notate the Wiki for everyone's benefit, but for disassembly specifics put it in the guides.
