Eye tube replacement guide is incomplete

I'm trying to replace the eye tubes, but I'm stuck on the very last step due to poor instructions.

There's a frame holding down the eye tubes, but unlike what other commenters suggested - bending or manipulating the eyetubes doesn't help a thing.

I have no idea who thought saying "just try different angles bro" in a guide was a good answer. It would be better to disassemble the frame and then put it back together, but I have no idea how. It should be possible since it's hooked/latched onto the main thing.

Hi @maximacrashed , could you please link the guide you are referring to?

Maybe @samomio could help you with that.

It's been two months so no, I don't think he will.

It's insane to publish something so incomplete that you might as well do the repair without it.

Thanks for tagging SamO, Sebastian, but he doesn't work here anymore (which is why he didn't reply).

I think this post got moved over to Meta because of the phrasing of the question. You're not wrong that the guide leaves a bit to be desired. Once you figure it out, feel free to edit the guide to improve it!

If you still haven't removed the eye tubes, I'd suggest re-posting your question back on the Answers forum in the frame of a question on how to solve your particular problem. Another thing I can do is help you find your closest repair cafe to get help from some other fixers.

I doubt I'd get any help from the closest repair shop since I've lost a spring during the repair. I'm closer to throwing that headset again and buying a new one rather than taking it anywhere.
