Guide change heads up: Xbox 1713 receiver (Win 10/11)

I have made major changes to this guide around Windows 11, as well as future end-of-support dates for both Windows 10 and 11; I originally had this set for a 2025 EOL date (1/1/23 phaseout, 1/1/24 end of support, 1/1/25 obsolete date due to driver concerns). However, the changes I was able to make meant I was able to scrap the 1/1/25 obsolete date but consider 10 end of support even if I never change the photos. That was the first big change I made in the positive direction. I have not set an 11 EOL date, as even Microsoft has none.

The other change I made pertains to the Windows update steps; this was mentioned in the comments for 10/11, but I dismissed it for years. While I initially dismissed this option, I added it using a Windows 10 laptop for consistency (and for Win11 with the 1713, sometimes it struggles without help from Windows Update; so that's partially what pushed me to add it) but the steps remain the same otherwise between 10 and 11. I have finally been able to confirm this to be true. And confirmed it is 11 compatible. You can blame my resistance to Windows 11 due to the M$ account mandate where I REFUSED to touch it out of principle until Intel/AMD and Microsoft forced the resistance to get 11 or buy old 11th gen Intel laptops like my G15 :-(. Thanks to this nonsense if I get a newer Dell G15, I'll need to get it with 11 because Dell no longer ships anything with 10 after 11th gen Intel :-(. If I ever need to redo the photos and I get a newer laptop/upgrade the OS, I now need a new set to avoid issues.

These are the major changes I made. I also made small tweaks across the board for usability.

Does it look like I need a Windows 11 guide specifically or should I be fine with the approach I took as a countermeasure in case of a redo being needed of adding it retroactively?

@nick , these changes should be fine without needing to make a Windows 11 guide specifically. This is a solid approach. Thank you for all the effort you make to keep your guides up to date.

Yeah I found no real difference to the point I just dropped the 2025 date and just capped 10 at that date as a middle ground. I have the same concerns moving forward I did with the 7/8.x guide so I'd rather call it a partial wash and drop 10 when the day comes it's EOS.

The reason for such a early cutoff on my end (10 months early) is so I can replace hardware and not have to worry about supporting something I am limited in capacity to. It's essentially a quick way out so if I want to buy a G15 with Ryzen or current gen Intel I can do so without worrying about it for example. Same as if I upgrade the G15 11th Gen to 11.
