Battery replacement kits vs. components

Why are the phone battery replacement kits so much cheaper than the individual replacement parts? I have 4 phones to replace batteries on, so only need 1 toolkit and 4 sets of batteries and adhesives, but the pricing means I should buy 4 toolkits which makes no sense and seems very wasteful for a company who's mission is to reduce waste. Is there an economical way to buy 1 toolkit and 4 batteries and adhesives (2 diff pixel models)

I usually put the extra pry tools and other tools in my RBT. It's only wasteful without a plan.

Since it's only a little more I'd rather buy the tool+part and put them away for other repairs I need them for. I usually need the fix kit for the adhesive since it's cheaper to get the fix kit for it and it's sometimes the only way to get it without paying more then you have to for it.

Now, there are cases where it's worth mulling over the fix it, like this SSD. It's $20 cheaper without the fix kit, but on the other hand you are getting a EET for ~$20-29, so if you needed it for tools you keep on hand that's in a smaller set, you may be better with the fix kit (even if you use your normal tools). Likewise if you own the tools, then it may be better to save $20. On the other hand small things like screens and batteries tend to be about the same, so the fix kit is the better choice by default. The script gets flipped again if you need the enclosure since it's $13, so you are generally better off with the fix kit unless you own tools and a enclosure.

I agree the part vs fix kit cost is a bit frustrating. But I can either complain about the situation, or buy the fix it and put the unused tools away for future use and use consumables like picks and pry tools to refresh things. It's sometimes cheaper that way anyway, or if it's not in a fix kit and I can wait, wait until I can add it to a larger order to save on shipping somewhat.
