Hi @bonnie23549, just jumping in to say that @jayeff is right on point. The order you placed doesn't come with any tools. I went ahead and checked out your order to see which device you have.

To replace the battery on your Kindle Fire Gen 1, follow this guide. The guide lists the tools you'll need. (It's listing an opening tool and a spudger.)

That said, you may have some items in your house that could work. Try not to use any metal tools to pop off the back case, as they can scratch your device. Also, don't use anything metal or sharp to lift the old battery out of it's spot and go pretty slow so you don't bend the battery. Accidently slipping and stabbing the battery could cause a fire. Adhesive does best with firm but constant pressure.

Good luck with your repair!

Hi @bonnie23549

Just verifying that you ordered the battery from ifixit?

Also please confirm the model number of your Kindle as there are no Kindle 1 (aka Kindle K1) batteries available from ifixit,. There are other 1st generation models however, e.g. Kindle Fire Gen 1, Kindle Paperwhite Gen.1

Looking at the list of Kindle batteries available from ifixit, none show that tools will be supplied with the battery.

Some do have the option to purchase a toolkit along with the battery though, but not all of them.
