Moderation page problem in Answers

Hi @krisrodriguez ,

Initially voted for the two spam removals posted in the Moderation page in Answers (see image) My votes were acknowledged but my user ID wasn't (still isn't) shown as having done this.

Then I enabled my "Super Powers" to delete the offending posts and again this was acknowledged but they remain on the Moderation page.

However when selecting each of the offending posts, both posts have been deleted. (see image on right side. this is for the 1st spam post removal, the 2nd post gives the same result)

@jayeff — thanks for flagging this.

Before I check in with the devs, could you help me out with a few details?

Do you remember roughly what time you voted and then used your Super Powers?

Were you on desktop or mobile?

And just in case — have you tried a hard refresh or switching browsers to see if the posts still show up?

Sometimes these things can be display-related, but I want to be sure we’re not overlooking something deeper. If you’ve got any other screenshots handy (especially of the Moderation view after the actions) and links to where this happened, feel free to send them over — that helps a ton when talking with the dev team.

@krisrodriguez @jayeff I have experienced the same issues with those as well. I wonder if this is related to the offending "files" actually being listed as "Story" vs "Post"

@krisrodriguez

The problem occurs using Edge and Firefox browsers on two PCs, a Win10 and a Win11 PC.

I moderated a switch to answer from a comment post in Moderation OK as my vote was recorded and the post was moved in the relevant thread. The entry in the Moderation page was also removed as I was the 3rd vote.

But when attempting the same for the two posts as shown above, nothing happens after I select the upvote option (tick) only the pop up which states "vote recorded"

This same happens whether I enable Super Powers or not.

@jayeff @oldturkey03, @jayeff @oldturkey03 — thanks for the follow-up. I’m chatting with the dev team now to see if we can reproduce the issue and track down what’s causing it. If this continues to happen, feel free to send over any screenshots or links — that’ll help me add more detail to the issue we've opened. Thank you both for being so vigilant.

Hi @krisrodriguez

Another problem has surfaced in Moderation.

Wondered why the top post in the image only had 3/5 votes when 7 user had voted for it to be removed.

I realize that 10 others "may" have voted for it to stay but they're not shown (or maybe they never are?).

However when I selected to upvote it again (there is no down vote (X) option) I get the message as shown but there's nothing more to choose only to exit and nothing is done.

Hey @jayeff — just a quick update to let you know we’re looking into this.

We’ve had a couple of bugs pop up over the past week, and there’s a good chance this might be related. I’ve passed your detailed report along to the dev team so they can dig in and see what’s going on under the hood.

Really appreciate you taking the time to document everything so clearly — it makes a huge difference when we’re trying to track these issues down.

I’ll keep you posted as soon as I have an update.

@jayeff, it's definitely a bug.

The team is looking into it.

I don't have an ETA for when it will be fixed, but we're on it.

@krisrodriguez

Thanks for that, hopefully it will be soon.

Cheers
