Lots of connectivity issues

popped up. It also seems that for a while now, that iFixit is lagging with screen refreshing etc. It just seems slow and sluggish. I am sure you all are aware of those issues and the Devs are working on that.

Oh yeah, the Devs! They broke things :-)

We've noticed that there are issues with the Device Picker. Just one example (of many this weekend ;-) is on this question https://www.ifixit.com/Answers/View/9233...

This is what it showed

Now, to change the device go to Edit the Question and select the device

which looks just like what we need. So, we'll select it and that looks good

Now just preview the edit and submit the edit. The result is

This is just one example of many. I made sure that this is not an issue on my end by having this verified with other Mods as well.

Devs, we need this fixed people :-) There are devices to be fixed. People need all of our support now more than ever. Let's not slow down and appear sluggish and wimpy. Lets move full steam ahead. Elbows up!

Yes, you're right. We've been having challenges this weekend, and last week. We have alerting that calls us in the middle of the night, or during dinner, or whenever the site gets slow. We appreciate the message, and please keep letting us know when you have problems. In this case, we're on it.

Why? We're getting hit with an unprecedented amount of traffic and bot activity.

For example, we're getting something like 5x as much traffic from China as the US, and 3x as much from Brazil. Some of the bot traffic is US origin as well.

We're working on a number of mitigations. They will take a bit of time to put into place, so bear with us while we implement some more defensive measures.
