iFixit Needs a Notification Tool Bar

Hi guys

Currently i am receiving emails regarding replies to questions/answers and i am finding it inconvenient to check my email every time i want to see if someone has posted anything to a question/answer. Is it possible to add a notification tool bar (similar to facebook) somewhere so you can go to an updated post with a simple click? Not only will this speed up the reply time but it will make the site even easier to use :)

Thanks guys! If you could implement something like this i would be VERY grateful, as would many others users i'm sure!

The image quality isn't great, because I think that iFixit's image uploader scaled them down, I'm uploading them to imageshack.

Looks like a great start. I'll investigate the feasibility of this. By the way, you can link to the full-resolution image by removing the '.large' in the image.

I think it would be cool if you could just implement it into the top "Top Bar" and keep it blue, almost like facebook's notification bar. If you want, I can make some concept art-ish stuff
