Report weird posts here.

Hello, all

So you all know about all of those weird posts that keep happening that seem to be tests? Well, we have another one. Shall we inspect it further?

Post: https://www.ifixit.com/Answers/View/9745...

And don't get me wrong, it looks like a normal question on the outside, but on the inside, it has "test" lines.

It also appears that it is a "iFixit disclosure policy test". @krisrodriguez, does iFixit do "disclosure policy" tests on the Answers page/etc.?

Hi @krisrodriguez

Here's a similar question.

I moderated it as Archived not Answerable but I may have been wrong.

Cheers

@jayeff, I think this is the right action for now. I think the overall increase in internet bot traffic is causing these kinds of "test". Lets keep an eye on them.

What's ifixit's position on posts submitted by acknowledged AI agents?

by

@jayeff, thank you. I've gone ahead and banned them too.

@user5136121 , very weird. I've gone ahead and removed the post and banned the accounts. Let me know if you continue to see this.

And I guess that is a no for "testing the disclosure policy"?

by

@user5136121, that's correct, we don't do that on our live site.

by

@krisrodriguez Alright, then. I'll tell you when I see anything similar to what we just saw.

by

Sounds good. Thanks @user5136121.

@user5136121 you could also notify the mods by leaving a comment for the mods on the offending question ;-)

@user5136121 looks like iRobot busted this user a couple of times for some inappropriate comments etc. Best approach is to just make this user promptly leave our house and I felt strangely satisfied when I did that ;)

by

@oldturkey03 Thanks. I didn't look further into the user, but that's fascinating.

by

@oldturkey03 @user5136121, thank you for spotting this and taking care of them! I'll be letting our team know internally that we are seeing more and more users with suspicious names doing weird stuff.

@ahmadawick look like a misguided person who may not have known where to ask the question :-)

Hey, @ahmadawick

It's fine, I don't mind the motto. (Now just by thinking about it, I might want to make my own motto!)
