Add multiple languages support for translating content

I think that while the site should work in English, you should be able to specify what languages you can translate in your profile. Then, if a question needs translating there can be a button near "History, Edit, Flag, Comment" called "Request Translation." When pressed, all the users who speak that language are sent an e-mail asking them to come and help translate it into English so the community can help solve it.

Yeah I remember when we discussed this a long while ago, there are quite often posts in a variety of languages and we sometimes struggle to find translators for less common languages. This functionality as described by QEII sounds great, Wikipedia employs something similar that is very effective.

We're a ways off on internationalization support, but it will happen.

This blog post in December referenced our plans.

If you want to help us translate, fill out this form and I'll contact you when the time comes.
