How do you rename articles?
How do you rename an article? I just created one for 'Miele G542' but on second thoughts it might be better to call it 'Miele G542 dishwasher'. I can't find a way to do that.
Is this a good question?

There currently is no way for a normal user to "rename" an article. The correct way to "rename' something would be to copy and delete the text from the old page and paste it into the new one.
However, your first article name is correct. You want the name "Miele G542" as the name of the article (that is the exact name of the device) and you would want it in the "Household" or "Dishwasher" area.
If you felt the device name was confusing you could change the TITLE of the article to "Miele G542 Dishwasher" but you don't want to change the NAME of it because "dishwasher" is not a part of the device name.
The ideal solution is to fill out the device page with a picture and a summary that anyone looking at that page will quickly realize that the "Miele G543" is a dishwasher.
Sorry this stuff is so confusing. We are working on making it more intuitive, thank you for contributing :)
Just like Wikipedia, you can create a device page just by going to its URL. For example, your Miele G542 device page's URL is http://www.ifixit.com/Guide/Device/Miele_G542.
You can go to the revised URL, http://www.ifixit.com/Guide/Device/Miele_G542_Dishwasher, and open the old page in a separate window. Then, cut/paste all the information from the old page to the new one.
Once all the information is gone from the old page, it will be essentially removed from the site. Note that any device page images will have to be downloaded to your local drive and re-uploaded to the new device page.
This option will not change the URL, just what is displayed on the device page itself.
Edit your Miele G542 device page, and type "Miele G542 Dishwasher" in the "Title" field. That should display "Miele G542 Dishwasher Repair Manual" on the device page, but not change the URL itself. The URL will still be just http://www.ifixit.com/Guide/Device/Miele_G542.
As Chris mentioned, "Your first article name is correct. You want the name "Miele G542" as the name of the article (that is the exact name of the device) and you would want it in the "Household" or "Dishwasher" area."
To put it in the proper area, edit your Miele G542 device page and type "Household" into the "Area Links" field on the far right; click Save.
We already have a Household area, so that's probably the best place to put the device page for now.

Thanks. Where is the 'Area Links' field? On the far right when I edit I have 'Image Manager', but I can't see anything about area links, nor is it mentioned in the 'Creating a Device Page' guide.
What about a redirect? As Chris mentioned, your name is correct - but you can have both "Miele_G542" and "Miele_G542_Dishwasher" redirect to the same page. The redirect syntax is as follows:
[redirect|Device:Miele_G542]
Put that in the Miele_G542_Dishwasher device and you get two for the price of one!
