This is certainly something we're considering. We want to keep the site hardware focused, but we may set up another site at some point to handle those types of questions. For the moment, we want to keep questions here focused on things that will make hardware last longer. Software questions are allowed that are directly related to that, but not general software troubleshooting.

Most definitely, I can see why for now you want to stick with hardware, but it's tied in as well, and would be a great community.
