I just tested it and the functionality is working as intended. We used to use the phrase 'close' and now we say 'archive'.

These are the reputation thresholds, per this help document:

  • Archive a question: 5,000
  • Reopen a question/answer: 10,000
  • Delete a question/answer: 20,000

Once you have that amount of reputation, you can open a vote to perform the action. Other community members and moderators can take action on your vote.

Archiving questions should be used in situations where a question is not beneficial or relevant to the community.

I've been here about 5 years and never closed or locked a question. Why do you feel you need such powers?

Well Adam Hintz, you kind of proved my point by your down vote on a valid question.

His vote was eight months ago, but I'll take your point. I upvoted to cancel out his downvote.
