Is the number two pin supposed to be missing?

Hi, I just bought this universal drive adapter from iFixit, and when I opened the pack I noticed that the #2 copper pin is absent. Is this as it is supposed to be (safe to proceed), or is this a faulty product? Thanks.

If you look deep in the hole it may be there. If not request a replacement. These molex connectors can float back and forth in the plug.

Actually, the pin that's missing is a ground. It's 5V, G, G, 12V and that missing connector is a ground that was very likely never installed.

I would throw that out, and buy a quality adapter. That thing looks like a hard drive killer. If you want to try a replacement you can see, but I'm guessing this will happen again.

You can also use it of you want, but I would use caution due to the missing second ground.

What they did on that one looks very common to the China Pride specials on eBay. This is how horrible some of it is. I prefer a IDE hard drive dock over these, personally. I'd just get another dock for SATA.
