HoverBoard / Segway Repair Guide?
Have you guys made a repair guide for the HoverBoard/Segway?
Is this a good question?

Feng - I would suggest sending samples of a couple of the more popular boards to iFixit for them to do a teardown guide. You get great publicity, the world now knows how to fix them and feels more confident buying them. But of course you also need to be willing to sell the replacement parts so they can be repaired.

Looks like Feng is not to interested in providing any samples of his repair abilities. May be he was trying to spam on here....Naaaaaahhhhh:-) Let's see what Feng Fran will come up with.

Maybe Feng has taken an extended New Years break. Naaaahhh, that doesn't start till Feb. 8th.

I foresee that there will be no deals made in the near future.

OK, I was right, he did take a New Years break.

Yes Sir, you were right again:-)

I would like to provide TAOTAO motherboards to iFixit to do a teardown guide. Sorry, I just leave some message here to invite someone to join us, and I forgot to come back because of coming new year holidays. Thanks all guys

@kyle is the main leader of iFixit. I'm sure his crew would love to do a complete teardown and evaluation of one of your products. Be warned that it will be a fair and honest evaluation. I hope yours is not one with the exploding batteries we have seen on the news recently! https://gearjunkie.com/hoverboards-catch...

Feng Fan mayer is probably right again:-). contact @kyle and see if they are interested. If not you can always do it yourself and post a guide about it on ifixit. I sure would like to see what you got there and I am sure we all are "we can teach you to repair the motherboard" interested in that.

As far as I know, there are dozens of versions of this Chinese scooter thing, all with different names and manufacturers. This is a pretty fascinating story about it.
Since they're all different, each one might require their own guide? I don't know, I don't have one.
Perhaps you should take yours apart and post a guide!

They're pretty much all the same thing. They all come from China with a different name. You can get them for $200 from Alibaba.

We are worldwide repair center of hoverboards, which are the partner of original motherboard designer. We are inviting US partner to join us to repair the self balance wheel.
We receive many orders to repair the balance wheel because Online marketplace Amazon closed many sellers account who sold "hoverboards" .
Huge quantities of hoverboards need to repair because buyers can't find sellers to solve.
Meanwhile, we can provide original parts for repairing balance wheel which can be delivered from our US warehouse. Also we are partners of original motherboard designer, and we can teach you to repair the motherboard.

Feng Fran that sounds like a good idea. How about you post some schematics and repair manuals for those hover boards? It would enable people to repair their boards and to purchase parts of your company for as long as they are good quality and reasonably priced.

I am interested in learning to repair. I ordered 6 with samsung batteries from Chinese factory (Elianda scooters in Shenzhen).. One was DOA-doesn't charge and the other ran fine for exactly one week, then started beeping non-stop until I finally had to open it up and unplug the battery connector.

Feng, I have a strong mechanical aptitude and we (my four sons) are interested in repairing hover boards. We live in Dallas Tx. Whats the next step in moving forward?

Hey guys, we just completed a mini teardown analysis of a Swagway smart balance board. It's not in the usual iFixit structure yet, but you can see the pictures and read about it on our blog, here: http://ifixit.org/blog/7821/swagway-tear...
As Kyle mentioned, there are dozens of different companies selling these, and from our research there do appear to be some differences internally. We'd love to get some more user guide contributions!
Disassembly of our unit was very straightforward—Phillips screws on the exterior, connectors on all the wires (no desoldering to disassemble!), and modular components made it super easy to crack open, take apart, and reassemble.
