When do you think Emoticons will be supported?

It would be nice to use a real smiley face emoji icon Vs the ;-}

Sorry its flaky! If you edit your answer you'll loose it and adding a comment with it above also wipes it out.

Hi Dan,

I too would delight in the addition of emoticons on iFixit :) I'll shop it by the team and see what they say. Thanks!

Do you people mean :O to make me learn another language ? %#*@, I was just getting used to ;-)

I'm >:(

The evolution of what is politically correct and incorrect in this country is driving me nuts.

I opened a door for a female last week and was looked at with distain. As she walked through she muttered chauvinist!

I said "yes Ma'am" to another and got chewed out. When I apologized and said, " Lady, I'm sorry", she lit into me again. I finally said, "You''re correct. you're no lady".

Just as I starting to learn what LGBT was they added a Q. I don't have a clue as to what that is, but I'm sure to offend someone just asking.

I hear all these alphabetical terms, The "blank word" and someone will take offense if I use it.

I found out yesterday that my son had to go to a series of lectures on how to handle millennials because they are so special they take kid glove handling.

After finishing the course he asked (in jest) if he would get a certificate or trophy for finishing the program.

So if someone finds my comments offensive, just call me a nasty name and "go stick it!"

@mayer I hear you on that one. I absolutely love the millennials that make up about 1/4 of my department. What a great bunch of people. Not like you or I for sure, but I love the way my team functions because of the diversity. The values are still the same as ours just different priorities. I did have to take a few courses myself to bridge the generation gap. It is funny to see how different the approaches are when it comes to different generations. May it be in my profession or in my theater group (yes I know you did not know that about me;-) as well as my family, I welcome that diversity. BTW not every millennial requires Safe Spaces nor political correctness. Okay I am off my soapbox. Emoji's are okay by me.....

@oldturkey03 The course was at the hospital. My son was offered a chief position at EMS at the largest hospital in town. Thankfully, at least for me, he took it six months ago and is no longer a homicide detective. Medicine was his first love he just couldn't support a family on what that paid. He continued with aeocare on his off hours for years. The hard a*s attitude the police job gave him is what got him the chief position ;-)

I think all these spoiled brats out protesting the election results have ticked me off as to the nature of the youth in this country.

As to Emoticons. Well I learned HTML. I don't think I want to deal with Swift, but do have a couple of ideas for Apps if someone wants one.

But I refuse to learn omg Valley Girl!

@mayer good for your son. I know what you are saying about not getting paid enough, but you got to do what you love. The money will always follow. Bring on the Emoji's ....we can do it.

Gee! I thought you'd love to type less stuff
