What do you think Apple magic Touch ID pairing thing is?

Hello,

So I heard Apple has their magic Touch ID home button thingie to re-pair home buttons. What do you think it looks like, and how it works?

Here's how I think it works.

The thingie read the key from the logic board and puts it in the buttons chip. Or at is just a blank button and it has a ROM or something to that extent.

It's probably a piece of software. What Apple probably does is they run the software, pair the new button and then that button can't be reprogrammed after it is programmed once.
