Is it me or badly designed Forum software?

I posted a comment to an issue with GE refrigerators and have been receiving email notifications of new comments. I find the notifications useless because when I click on the link, it takes me back to the top of that issue but not to the comment that the notification is about. There are no date stamps on comments and it's not possible to locate that particular comment by using the search tool.

Please consider using some better forum software. Thank you.

Thanks for your feedback about the Answers forum. Right now, answers to questions have their own permalinks, but comments on questions and on answers do not. Without permalinks, we can't link to specific comments in a thread when we send those notification emails.

I'm not sure if that's a function that the development team is considering adding to the forum at this time. One easy way around it would be to use the Find functionality in your browser (Command + F if you're using a Mac) to hunt down the comment you're looking for.

I tried the Find function as a workaround but it doesn't return the specific results. When one receives a response/comment, that's where one would want to go directly to view the answer. It's a significant shortcoming of the ifixit Forum software and hope the development team is considering addressing it.

This isn't a repair related question or something that can be fixed. It should be moved to ifixit meta, and you should tell people your talking about the ifixit forum.

Appreciate the advice. I am not familiar with ifixit meta or how to move it there. Thank you for pointing out that I should be clear what I'm talking about. Will try to do better.
