October 12th, 2010 Release Notes

We know it's been a while, but we've been rather busy. As always we have made lots of tiny changes to make things look better and faster, but here are some of the changes that effect how things work:

• There is now a max limit of 1000 reputation given per guide per user (per discussion here).

• When asking a question, we now try and recommend possibly similar questions. (Suggestion #1 here.)

• Comments on Answers must be at least 12 characters.

• If you have less than 10 reputation, you are required to read through http://ifixit.com/Answers/Advice before you can ask a question. (Suggestion #2 here.) We'll be watching the impact of this closely, and if we may redesign it if it reduces the number of questions too far.

• We rewrote how watch emails are generated. I'm sorry you haven't been getting emails the last week. This isn't 100% perfect yet — we're continuing to work through some back-end changes to our email system.
