"Search within answers" - How about comments too?

I was recently searching for some info I had exchanged with another contributor. I remembered the content pretty explicitly but what I really wanted was a link I had provided.

I tried searching within answers for some pretty exclusive keywords and the searches always came up empty or non-relevant. I realized that the search capability does not look at comments, only answers.

I eventually did find what I was looking for because I had an approximate date in mind and I went back through my activity log and looked at everything...and I mean everything. It was a very painful process.

I find that there is a lot of useful information in the comments because that is where corrections or additional info is added. Would it make sense to either search through answers or comments or allow some special code to allow this for the more frequent contributors (something like comments:searchterm)?

I totally concur. The search engine needs to be much more comprehensive.

@refectio Try searching through six or seven years of answers.
