Thanks for bringing this to our attention!

That looks like a student in our university technical writing program. We'll reach out and see if we can steer him in a more productive direction.

Thanks for being patient with our students—they are still learning. Sometimes they don't post the most helpful questions or answers. We are monitoring this, but we're often a day or two behind when they post them. So if you see an off-base question, you can leave it to us to handle (if you don't want to guide them yourself) and move on to a user's question.

The most important thing is to be polite and encouraging to our students while they're learning, working, and hopefully becoming members of our community. We're helping teach the next generation of fixers, and we need to keep reminding them that they are an important part of fixing the world.

Just to add to @kaykay's comment, we usually tell students in these groups to have one person ask a question and have a separate group member post an answer to prevent any weirdness. However cases like this don't grant the user any rep, so this is just weirdness, not rep farming or anything nefarious.
