@justman10000 you see the predicament this puts us in. First off, we are 100% G-rated. Yes, we all know how to cuss but we don't do it on here. We do not know you yet and thus as a stranger storming into the house and cursing without any content (33% of it was cussing) put us on the defensive. I recognize that the anonymity of the internet let's us all do those things but it's just not proper, is it? You wouldn't do that in the "real" world. I can't see you addressing a group of strangers at work/school etc like that. We all try to be nice and to get along. Yes, we do disagree, bicker, quarrel and maybe even dislike each other, but we also "know" each other.
It would have been so much easier to make a good first impression by describing your issue and maybe suggesting a solution. Let's face it. If there is a 340 character bullet point, it may just be entirely too big to qualify as a bullet. Maybe we could get the OP of that guide to review and to edit it. We could have had a worthwhile discussion about it and resolve all of this without any quarrelling.
I do recognize that there might be some cultural difference that may get in the way here. I grew up in a culture that used a lot of cussing while referencing animals like pigs and donkeys etc. For example: "Every pig knows that translations have no character limit" Well, I didn't know this. Now the implication is that I know less than a pig! I mean, it is possible since I believe pigs to be some pretty smart animals but it is the implication that could be offensive. I am a stranger to you and you are calling me dumber than a pig. Again, not something we do in the real world, so why do it on here?
As you can see, we are an odd bunch and we are calm. Nobody here is over the top and there really is no issue other than a difference in approach and behavior. After all, we do believe in taking care of each other. We are our brothers and sisters keeper. iFixit is more than just repair, it's a way of life. Read through the mission, the background and yes, read through this part (Meta) of the forum. See what has been going on here over the last 15 years. Get to know your audience.
I would like to say "Klappe zu, Affe tot" and let's start over. Here is your second chance to make a 1st impression.
What is the issue and what is your suggestion?
