Accepted answers still not fixed

@evan the scoring system still has not been fixed. Take a look at my points for the last two days for example. On both days it is subtracting points over 200 on accepted answer from the total the next day. So today I max out at 146 points because I got two accepted answer yesterday. The same thing on the day before. Then, since I'm not showing 200 points, no Ace of Answers. I thought this had been fixed.

This is going to throw voting off for Minho @refectio

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

@mayer looks like it is still counting the points on a 24hour basis. 24hrs= max 200 points

by

@oldturkey03 I see you're also maxing out this morning at 140, so it's not just me.

by

@mayer yes I just did the math. 24hr=200points

by

Dang it guys, get it together...otherwise I'll have to redo my advanced calculus on @mayer 500K day!

Ut oh! No maths! No maths!

It's not. That's why I don't like badges. But I believe points serve a purpose, which is to give the public an idea of who's answer to trust. Besides that it gives new contributers goals and a sense of accomplishment. But otherwise I agree with you completely.

We've been trying to get this fixed for 8 years.

They fixed it but screwed it up.

@theimedic @pccheese you are right. It is not about points. @mayer will be heard and I know eventually the code guru's will get it straight. In the meantime, while mayer fights the good fight, let's focus on Answers!

by

Can we stop pretending points don't matter? They do and everyone one of us cares about them at some level or another.

by

@refectio not the points that matter but the appreciation that is attached to those. Appreciation by either the OP or by our peers is what matters. As we all know, there is no other value attached to points only where they come from.
