Email communication between ifixit community members

Member attempted to contact me via email but found no email address for my “user account”. Been receiving emails from ifixit throughout the day, almost every day, for a while now. Doesn’t really make sense to me.

So, do I need to do something else, like register my email address again (somewhere else, specifically) so that other community members can communicate with me via email?

thanks.

@fixnpop59 the email address you used when you signed up for iFixit does not get shared anywhere. iFixit only uses it to get in touch with you. If you would like, you can add a valid email to your "About" page. That way users can "look you up" and get in touch with you. Check @mayer or @oldturkey03 or @arbaman and see how we did this.

I have an iFixit only eMail but I removed it from my profile because the only thing it did was attract spam and rarely was useful. The best way to get my attention is to @ me since I generally pay attention to it outside of spam targeted guides.

I don't ever see an option for private messages or an anonymous forwarding eMail being offered. If you want one, you need to make it yourself to this day. I will probably never put it up again in a public place because it didn't do anything meaningful.

Hey Nick. I guess that's what I'm not sure about: you had an iFixit only email, and I don't know how one would establish such. I do not see an opportunity to create, edit, or otherwise provide an email address of any kind. I obviously must've provided one early on, because iFixit surely alerts me frequently - just don't see anywhere to address the email thing anywhere on the site, at all.

At any rate, thanks for taking the time to respond, and for the warnings about the spammers.
