Possibility to edit a comment?

Hello all,

a user made a comment and mentioned his mobile phone number.

I would like to edit this comment and just get rid of the private data - but there seems to be no possibility to edit comments for mods (just questions can be edited). At the moment my only option would be to delete the comment, which i would prefer not to do.

Any ideas?

Hi @benz78 @nick

An option is to moderate the comment to an answer in the same thread and when it appears as an answer, then edit the answer and submit it

Once it shows as the new edited answer, moderate it again as a comment back in the original answer.

I checked myself to see and I do not see a way to do it. All I can do is vote to moderate the comment out of existence :/. Maybe a staff member can do it.

@nick we can't edit comments. The only way to do it is the way @jayeff describes it
