In the interest of long-lived electronics devices, how about a page on electrostatic discharge (ESD) precautions?

Fair suggestion. Why don't you post a question like 'What are the best practices for ...' under 'Electronics', and then everyone can participate to create the best answer. Then in the future, we can all link to that question when the issue comes up.

Yeah I agree, a kinda of best practices wiki, I actually made a post about that earlier, it's something I've though for a while would be really useful.

Would you like something like this expanded: http://www.ifixit.com/Answers/View/8497/...

or

Or should the accumulated information already given be consolidated?

Sounds like the training I received. + Ralph

Sure, that information is great. Consolidating all of this information into a wiki page makes a lot of sense.

I'd like make it join effort with Ralph as Navy and MacTech as Air Force. Sometimes the government gets it right, particularly with regulations and procedures. Maybe we can get MacTech involved again and contributing. Kyle - Do you have a process for doing that?

I'd also like to invite any other knowledgeable contributors. My information is mostly practical but some technical input would be welcome.

@ Mayer anyone can edit it. I'm not sure we have a good way of getting specific users attention. It looks like all the powers users on the site check Meta so we can try to use it to coordinate FAQs. I'd recommend posting something like "Help create generic display troubleshooting page" and having a link to the wiki page you are creating.
