What is iFixit's Chinese connection?

From what I have known iFixit has always been a US company started by an American man. But I recently noticed the ICP license, something which Chinese websites require to be hosted in China, in the footer of the website. Why would iFixit need it when it isn't even hosted in China?

This got me curious and I went to see the WHOIS record for the website http://whois.domaintools.com/ifixit.com? It states a Chinese name and number there but lists the US address of iFixit. The name being "Shang Qiu Shang Zhong Guang Gao You Xian Gong Si".

So I simply wanted to ask what is the Chinese connection of iFixit?

@kyle - You may want to take over IFIXIT.BIZ domain name as it looks like a fishing site!

@danj I get it that they sell their products in China. But isn't the site American started by Kyle Wiens , shouldn't he or someone else from the company be the owner. Whose this unknown person with a Chinese name?

Wow that WHOIS is all messed up.

I'll ask the appropriate ops person to see what's up with that.

No problem, the ops guy was as surprised as you were when I showed him. He's a little swamped with things to do right now, but it's on his radar.
