When patrolling edits to guides etc no options to Accept, Deny etc

Hi @kristen,

Was looking at the patrol pages and found that on some entries there were no options to Accept, Deny or Edit, but only a message that said “(You don’t have enough reputation to patrol this edit.)” (see example) whereas on others the option is there.

On the ones with no options it appears that the Permissions Manager setting is not there in the guide so was wondering how these could be patrolled if that is the reason for the message regarding reputation?

Answered! View the answer I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Hi @jayeff !

It is possible that you get the “You don’t have enough reputation to patrol this edit” even with the high number of rep points that you have, that is when the reputation required to approve changes is set to “infinite”, (maybe that’s why you don’t see any) which we always do for our own guides, the ones written by our techwriting department.

However, I thought that as you have moderator’s rights on the platform, you should be able to patrol even those. Can you maybe try with some other iFixit staff guide, such as the Oura Ring 2 Teardown, and see if you can patrol it?

Hi @sandrahiller ,

Thank you for your response.

It is the same with the Oura Ring 2 teardown there are also no options showing, just the same message but I do see it for this one for example.

I'm not that familiar with how it works yet but it does appear as though I cannot patrol the guides that have been created by the ifixit staff members.

Hi @jayeff !

Got some new info in the meantime: Your special powers as a moderator only apply to the Answers Forum, in the patrolling section, your privileges are equivalent to your own reputation, so you won't be able to patrol guides with a threshold set to "infinite", I'm sorry!

But of course, you can suggest changes to these as well!

All the best,

Sandra
