I'll keep my eye on this one, since you're out of edits

Thanks Chris, this one is bad, we could sure use that Red Alert signal to iFixit. What a mess.

by

He's posted 30+ links, and has ~10 accounts. I'll delete them until I run out of edits as well.

What a real pita

It looks like he's done. I'll continue to keep an eye on things, but there haven't been any new posts in 10 minutes.

Unfortionatly, you can't just IP ban somebody. Even if you ban his IP address, all he has to do it reset his modem, and he has a fresh, unbanned IP. IP bans only can ban whole blocks of IP addresses (For example, block an entire country, state, or service provider.) Most people don't have static (non-changing) IPs, which makes IP banning a very uneffective tool against spammers.

To add to that - even if they have a static IP, what happens when a spammer moves out of their apartment / house? The next person who moves in 6 months later then can't access our site, through no fault of theirs. There can be unintended consequences to harsh actions like that.

Banned two accounts for this user: http://www.ifixit.com/User/342002/heven and http://www.ifixit.com/User/Contributions.... This abundance of spammers is making it clear we'll need a better solution.
