For now I would wait! Let’s see what Apple announces tomorrow Sept 10th or in October if they don’t announce any Mac hardware. Maybe that will offer some guidance.
Frankly, if your MacBook Pro only needs a new battery I would do that for sure. Its not that expensive and easy to do! [product|IF163-054-2] or [guide|7511]. I would look at also upgrading the RAM and look at replacing your HDD with a SSD drive. I’m sure with these efforts you have at least one more year of useful life.
For now Sierra is still supported with maintenance releases so I wouldn’t worry quite yet, And if needed jumping to Mojave is also possible! I personally would stay away from High Sierra.

Try and hear me out on this but the lack of Metal API support is a point of contention for me. It'll help and the drive can be put in an enclosure but things are going to get worse.
Fix the RAM yes but the SSD is a bit more expensive then I'd like for a last hurrah upgrade. I'm already making plans to have a way out of trouble myself but I'm not kicking them in until I can do this and I need it. I'm either going to the dark side with 16GB of RAM or getting the 16" rMBP if it's a proper recreation of the 17" with modular drives, RAM and WiFi hardware.
Yeah it won't hurt right away but I'm leaning more towards treading with caution going forward.

Hi there!
Unfortunately we can't do a teardown of every device. If you'd like to make one yourself, that would be awesome! If not, feel free to consult our Answers forum—someone there may know if this device has a replaceable battery.
I hope this helps!

Looks like you don’t sell the original like your website is advertising.
Got a battery a year and a half ago for a Nexus 5X and is not charging anymore. And no, there is nothing wrong with the phone or charger.

OK let’s start off with an understanding…
I love Seagate hybrid SSHD drives! I don’t recommend the newer model in older SATA II (3.0 Gb/s) 2.5” drive’d systems! The newer FireCuda model is not like the older version!
The older 2.5” model could be put into any! SATA I (1.5 Gb/s),SATA II (3.0 Gb/s), or SATA III (6.0 Gb/s) system.
Sadly, the newer FireCuda 2.5” can only be used in a SATA III (6.0 Gb/s) system! It does not have a means to auto sense the systems SATA ports I/O data rate unlike the older version.
Please correct these two entries system listings:
Remove the older systems from the supported list. Only systems newer from 2011 onward can use the FireCuda drive.
The problem here is the drive makers are cutting away old tech to cheapen the price of the drive. Many of the disk drive makers are dropping it on the more aggressively priced drives. The FireCuda 3.5” drives still have the tech and all of the Western Digital 2.5” & 3.5” drives are now all fixed SATA III. Just look at the spec sheets. If it doesn’t state it don’t use it!
For reference:
Note the SATA Transfer Rates Supported (Gb/s) line on the 3.5” drive offers 6.0/3.0/1.5 support. Unlike the 2.5” drive which only lists the Interface line and only lists SATA 6Gb/s and does not offer SATA Transfer Rates Supported (Gb/s) line at all!
I’ve spoken with high level Seagate engineers because I was encountering issues with the new 2.5” FireCuda drives when they first came out.

I have to say, it’s much better buying DIRECTLY from IFixit! Amazon really sucks big time. Ifixit already shipped my battery!!! Amazon lies about quantity and sits on your orders for DAYS! I cancelled my orders over there and came here! I didn’t know where else to comment. I’m new here.

I thought I would try and attempt fixing my own iPod Touch. They have a place in the mall here... That's IF they're even still around. But I'm willing to try to do it myself. If it doesn't work, it doesn't work. I have another iPod. I've been collecting them, since Apple isn't making them anymore. I'm getting all the latest generation ones. About maybe one or 2 more... I want to have them around when I become elderly. Old habits die hard ;-P I will be dead in 20 years ;-PPP So I don't need a million of them, but enough to have before I'm too old to use them, anyway... And I'm good with fixing things and working with my hands, so, I thought I would try...
Oops! I'd like to change my mind.
