Hi @amber ,
This user started spamming on meta (see meta moderation) and then switched to Answers so I banned them in Answers and deleted post in Answers forum

Hi @jayeff,
This user is so persistent!! I went though and deleted all of their content and banned them in Meta, as well. Hopefully this helps squash them.

@jayeff, Techy001 is gone.
I keep thinking about Henry... I think it's spam in a "cleaver" disguise. Do you think they're worth a scary email and a 2 week warning ban? Or do thing I should just nip this in the bud?
Scary may not be the best course of action.
Perhaps stating that effectively just linking websites that don't address the specific question asked is something that the OP can do for themselves.
But I really don't know.
Personally I think just banning them is the way to go.
You'll soon know if there's any comeback if they contact Ifixit and complain and if not they'll realize that they've been rumbled as to their true intent and move on.
Perhaps @sarahw or @kristen may have a view on this as they've no doubt encountered this sort of thing before.

I went through and deleted him. I added a calendar event in one week to clear all of his data if he doesn't end up real.

Here’s a voting ring perhaps.
Very strange that this user 4002979 who only joined today 07/19/21 posts an answer and it is upvoted 3 times within 20 minutes of it being posted, by these 3 users 4002987,4002981 both of whom also only joined today 07/19/21 and 3342903 who joined back on 01/16/20. Just wondering if the last upvoter “Eva Smith” is one and the same person as all the rest - check “her” profile description

Not once, not twice, but fourteen accounts involved with all of the User ID's included.

BTW, there has been an awful lot of spamming for “TunesKit iOS System Recovery tool” lately. I have been cleaning up answers on the questions I follow but I think it’s safe to say there is a lot more out there. Perhaps TPTB can run a simple search and root it all out.

I ran a search and found 8 accounts. 4 I had to ban and 4 were already taken care of. There's more and I'll keep digging another time. Good catch!!

I’ve banned this user 4007285 and deleted all the spam but you may want to go in and clean it all out.
The user name seems familiar. I think that they’re back after being previously banned using a slightly different user ID name.

I also thought the user name was familiar. I can't tell if it's actually the same person or just people all button mashing on the left side of their keyboard.
